I was born and raised in New Jersey, where I received my
basic art education. Transplanted to Florida over
30 years ago, and in search of a 'HOBBY', I happened
upon painting. Originally I worked with acrylics
in a fairly realistic style. Wanting a less
restrictive medium, I was introduced to watercolor and
have been captivated with the free-flowing looseness of
watermedia ever since. I have taken instruction
from a variety of local and nationally-known artists,
both in the classroom and workshop environments.
I am currently working with watercolor, acrylics and
experimental media. I am currently a member of Studio
1212 and Gulf Coast Artists Association.
The journey of my life has greatly paralleled my art.
As I began, the steps were small, timid, cautious.
As I was introduced to other choices and options, the
steps became bigger, bolder, more challenging. My
guides, teachers and mentors have been many, some
contributing more than others, all giving me something
to try, to risk, to challenge - to grow. I have
found my strength, my voice, my passion, my peace in my
art. |
