Lorraine has been drawing and
painting a variety of subjects in varied mediums since
she was a young child in Connecticut. She found
great inspiration in her scenic surroundings. From
farms to flower gardens to the abundant wildlife, she
was sparked by the colors and moved by the richness of
everything around her, and aspired to share her
exhilaration through her artworks.
"My goal is to not only reflect the world around me, but
to also convey the passion I feel for my subjects
through my
work."
Largely a self-taught artist, she recently
has studied with Mark Menendez in addition to taking
numerous workshops with locally and nationally known
artists.
In
addition to Studio 1212, she is currently a member of
the Creative Artist Guild of Dunedin, FL and the Dunedin
Fine Arts Center. She displays her award winning art at shows
and venues in
Florida, Georgia and Connecticut, and her pieces are in
private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. She
has been named Artist of the Month by the
Creative Artists Guild in January & March 2006, and
again in September 2007, and received a Second Place
ribbon at their 2008 Spring Art Show for "Hannah", an
oil portrait.
Lorraine's realistic style original
oil and watercolor paintings, giclees, prints and note
cards are available for sale through her website or by
contacting her directly.
