Raquel
Egosi began painting in 1996 while residing in Brazil,
where she studied with the internationally known artist,
Tran Tho, and attended a variety of painting classes.
She also conducted and organized art shows
while living in Brazil.
Raquel's body of work primarily consists of mixed media
painting, with a style that ranges from realistic to
abstract. She enjoys experimenting with new methods and
is continuously looking to introduce various other
mediums into her paintings, including liquid colors,
eggshells, gold leaf and lights. It is a unique style
that is fresh and constantly evolving.
Raquel arrived in Miami in 1999 and has studied with the
late Lee Willig, at the Artworks School, and with Anne
Lemos, at the University of Miami.
As a member of the One Ear Society in Coconut Grove,
Raquel's work has requently been selected, exhibited and
sold at the OES's Mayfair gallery, through its monthly-
juried shows. She has also had her work exhibited at the
Florida Museum of Hispanic & Latin Art and the Miami
Jewish Museum.
In 2003 Raquel moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida, and
continued to attend classes with Paul Foropoulos and at
the Art Center in Dunedin where she exhibits her works
on a constant basis.
Raquel joined Studio 1212 in 2006 and is very active
there.
As a member of the Tarpon Spring Art Association, Raquel
participates in their juried shows, and won an Honorable
Mention for one of her works. In 2007 Raquel
participated in the Clearwater La Leche League exhibit,
where her work was sold. |
